About Us

Pablo and Canda Started in the rock hauling business in 1953 with only a small dump truck. Pablo would haul manganese out of the black canyon mine southwest of Socorro. From one truck grew to 3 in a span of 8 years. After the manganese faded out they did miscellaneous hauling of aggregates and in 1969 they purchased their first screening plant and provided sand and gravel products to the 2 concrete producers in Socorro and one producer in Belen NM as well. After a few years the owner of the Belen concrete plant offered to sell Pablo his old concrete plant because he was purchasing a new one. So Pablo purchased the plant and 1 ready mix truck.


Setting up the plant was easy, but the cement silo was a different story. A crane was needed and funding was limited so they had to manually load the cement sacks into the truck by hand. They worked this way for about a year until they could afford a crane to erect the silo. Once the silo was set up it made life a little easier. As time passed the Aguilar's purchased property 10 miles North of Socorro in Polvadera where they excavated sand and gravel for resale and concrete.


A-1 Quality was incorporated in 1983. As business and the demand for products grew so did the business, with purchases of a computerized concrete batch plant, 2 screening plants, Kodiak K 400+ , crusher with 2 8x20 screens, and an Asco Madison Hot Plant. We are very fortunate for growing and prospering in the small community. We currently employ 26 local people and are very grateful for everyone's business.
